RAIA: Damdolem Sports Club outplayed Sporting Club Virabhat 6-2, securing a spot in the semi-finals of the 1st Caniza Peixoto memorial football tournament, organised by Agxem Sports Club and played at St Alex Church ground, Curtorim, on Wednesday.
Damdolem took an early lead with a goal from Joy Hilario in the 5th minute. Virabhat equalised in the 10th minute through Joslan's neat placement and then took the lead in the 22nd minute with a header from Baptista, ending the first half 2-1 in favour of Virabhat.
In the second half, Damdolem quickly regrouped and dominated the game, scoring five goals. Joy Hilario completed a hat-trick with goals in the 35th, 42nd, and 46th minutes. Ryan and Nelson also added to the scoresheet, scoring in the 39th and 44th minutes respectively, securing Damdolem's place in the semi-finals.
Joy Hilario was awarded man-of-the- match for scoring four goals by Jose Castanaha, ex-player of Agxem.
