In another match played at Nagoa ground, Sporting Clube de Goa scored a solitary goal win over Cortalim Villagers 1-0.

Sporting Clube, known for their flair, found themselves in a relentless tug-of-war against the disciplined defence of Cortalim Villagers. The Cortalim Villagers’ strategy to disrupt the rhythm of the match with a series of robust challenges paid off for the most part, as the first 45 minutes saw no goals.

The star of the match, Francisco of Sporting Clube, consistently broke through Cortalim Villagers stalwart defence, only to be denied by the exceptional Francis Vincent in the goal. Francisco’s spirited efforts highlighted the intense pressure Sporting Clube exerted on their opponents, despite the unyielding defensive tactics employed by Cortalim Villagers.

The breakthrough came when Myron Fernandes’ strategic throw-in found Marcus Mascarenhas, who displayed impeccable timing and skill to redirect the ball into the net at the death of the match. This moment of brilliance not only shattered the deadlock but also underscored Sporting Clube’s relentless pursuit of victory, as they capitalised on their dominance in possession and territorial advantage.
