PANJIM: Dhempe College of Arts and Science, Miramar, and St Xavier’s College, Mapusa, emerged victorious in the Goa University Inter-Collegiate Swimming Championship 2024-25 for men and women, respectively, held at the SAG Swimming Pool, Campal-Panjim. The competition featured a total of 10 events.
In the men’s category, Agnel Institute of Technology and Design, Assagao, secured the runner-up position, while Padre Conceicao College of Engineering took third place. In the women’s category, Agnel Institute of Technology and Design, Assagao, were the runners-up, and Dnyanprassarak Mandal’s College and Research Center claimed third place.
Aryan Sharma from Dhempe College of Arts and Science, Miramar, was awarded best swimmer-man, while Tanisha Murgod from St Xavier’s College, Mapusa, received the best swimmer-woman accolade.
Records were broken by Rahul Patil of Dhempe College of Arts and Science, Miramar, who completed the men's 100m backstroke in 1:08:90. Aryan Sharma, also from Dhempe College, set new records in both the men's 200m freestyle with a time of 2:16:31 and the men's 100m freestyle with a time of 58:07.
