RAIA: Domdolem Sports Club secured a commanding 4-0 victory over St Anthony Boys in the 1st Caniza Peixoto Memorial 9-a-side inter-ward football tournament, organised by Agxem Sports Club at St Alex Church ground, Curtorim, on Thursday.
The match kicked off with both teams in attacking mode, eager to break the deadlock. Domdolem took the lead in the 7th minute with Nezy Hilario scoring from a brilliant pass by Joy Hilario. They doubled their lead in the 18th minute when Joy Hilario found the net from a pass by Nezy Hilario. St Anthony Boys had a golden opportunity in the 20th minute, but Leandro missed an open header. Shortly after, a shot by Timoteo was well saved by the Domdolem goalkeeper.
The score remained 2-0 in favour of Domdolem at halftime.
St Anthony Boys tried hard to reduce the margin but failed. Domdolem scored their third goal in the 32nd minute through Milford Cardozo. Finally, they sealed their win with a fourth goal by Melwin in the 40th minute of the match.
Sandy Fernandes of Domdolem Sports Club was awarded the man-of-the-match by Anthony Peixoto, former Agxem Sports Club.
