PANJIM: Don Bosco College, Panjim, secured the Mr Goa 2024 inter-collegiate team championship, with Rajat Mayekar of Infinity Gym, Margao, claiming the Champion of Champions title. The event was organised by Mahakal Fitness Studio and United Sports Club Mardol under the auspices of the Goa Body Builders Association (GBBA) at the football ground, Mardol.

The championship featured competitions in six categories: 55kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg, 75kg, and above 75 kgs, including men’s physique championship and inter-collegiate bodybuilding. 

In the inter-collegiate men’s physique category, above 170 cm, Pratik Gawas of Don Bosco College secured the first prize, while Rhytham Sabnis of GVM’S College and Saidutt Kolvekar of Dempo College claimed the second and third prizes, respectively.

In the up to 170 cm category, Adarsh Parwar of Goa Polytechnic, Panjim took the first prize, with Krishna Bandekar of Dempo College and Sangappa Gaundar of CES College winning the second and third prizes.

Mark Dias of National Academy, Margao, clinched the first prize in the inter-collegiate bodybuilding below 55 kg category, while Tejas Naik of Khandola College, Marcel, secured the second position.

Rhytham Sabnis of GVM’S College emerged victorious in the below 60 kg category, with Sangappa Gaundar of CEC College and Saipreeth Naik of GPP College earning the second and third prizes.

Prajwal Salgaonkar of ITI, Borda, bagged the first prize in the 60 kg to 70 kg category.

Pratik Gawas of Don Bosco College secured the top spot in the above 70 kg category. Kundan Bakhale of Kare College and John Po of Salgaonkar College claimed the second and third prizes.

In the men’s physique open category up to 170 cm, Abhijit Naik of Elite Fitness secured the first prize, followed by Sohail Mandrekar of Infinity Gym, Margao and Sohail Chopdekar of Fitness House, Ribander, in second and third places.

In the above 170 cm category, Ajay Dessai of Hydra Fitness, Curchorem, bagged the first prize, while Shubham Kottambikar of Infinity Gym, Margao, and Sohail Chopdekar of Fitness House, Ribander, secured the second and third positions.

The bodybuilding categories saw various winners, including Amit Nambiar of Mahakal Fitness, Ponda, in the 55 kg category, Nitin Murgaonkar of Pitbull Gym in the 60 kg category, and Santosh Jamuni of Infinity Gym, Margao, in the 65 kg category.

The event also recognized the best poser, awarded to Navin Naik of Thor Fitness, Vasco, and the team championship open category, won by Infinity Gym, Margao.

Ravi Dessai and Santosh Mapsekar hosted the event, with the judging panel comprising Mahendra Dessai, Satya Naik, Viraj Arabekar, Umesh Amirkar, Vinay Patkar, and stage marshal Shrideep Dessai. A total of 90 athletes participated in the championship.
