PANJIM: FM Wagh Suyog displayed exceptional skill and determination throughout the tournament, ultimately defeating Jinan Jomon to clinch the title with a total of 8 points in the All Goa Open Blitz tournament organised by the Serials Club in collaboration with Centenary Chess Club and Mormugao Taluka, recently. 

The event saw fierce competition among some of the most talented chess players. Aakash Sharadchandra Dalvi gave a commendable performance and secured the runners-up position with an equal number of points, only to be edged out due to a slightly lower Buchholz score. FM Ritviz Parab showcased his expertise, finishing in a respectable third place with 7.5 points.

The awards were presented by chief guest IM Bhakti Kulkarni, an Arjuna Awardee and former Goa State Champion. Kavya, Prof Prema Leela KR, Kishor Bandekar (president of MTCA), Sanjay N (former Karnataka State Champion), Anish Naik (president of the Serials Club), IA Sanjay Kavlekar (SAG senior chess coach), Pundalik Naik (treasurer of MTCA), Aryan Naik (secretary of the Serials Club), SNA Tanishq Kavlekar (chief arbiter), and SNA Sachindra Naik (deputy chief arbiter) were the guests of honour.
