RAIA: In a thrilling quarter-final clash of the 33rd Super Soccer tournament in memory of Joao Francis Fernandes organised by United Boys of Dando, Colva, Fr Agnel YSC, Paroda, scored a 6-4 win over Maina SC, Curtorim, vie a tie-breaker after a 2-2 deadlock in the regulation time.
The match began with a bang as Selton Fernandes fired Fr Agnel YSC ahead in the 13th minute, courtesy of a sublime pass from Kanchan Kiro. Milagres Fernandes unleashed a powerful volley just two minutes later to equalise for Maina SC.
As the game’s intensity escalated, Joywin Carneiro gave Maina SC the lead in the 28th minute. With the first half drawing to a close, Likson Rebello’s timely strike in added time restored parity for Fr Agnel YSC. In the tie-breaker, Fr Agnel YSC demonstrated superior precision, sealing their place in the semi-finals with a 6-4 advantage.
Velroy Carvalho of Fr Agnel YSC was presented the man-of-the-match by Roque Carneiro.
