RAIA: In an exhilarating final of the Kshatriya Maratha Premier Cricket League (KMPL) Season 3, Maratha Warriors, Pernem, clinched a resounding victory scoring 79-0 in just five overs against Kshatriya Strikers at the Panjim Gymkhana ground, Campal-Panjim, recently. 

Unfortunately, Kshatriya Strikers could only manage to score 44 runs, losing six wickets in the final pursuit. 

The man-of-the-final was awarded to Guruprasad Aroskar of Maratha Warriors for his exceptional batting performance that contributed significantly to his team’s victory. 

Aroskar also earned the title of best batsman for his outstanding batting consistency throughout the tournament. A specially designed gold coin prize of man-of-the-series sponsored by Cumbarjua MLA Rajesh Faldesai was awarded to Sahil Gauns of Kshatriya Strikers for his outstanding leadership and pivotal role in guiding his team to the final. 

The bowler-of-the-series was awarded to Mohit Gaonkar of Shiv Shambhu Brigade, recognised for his impressive bowling performances, who took seven wickets in the tournament.

The prize distribution ceremony was graced by chief guest Minister of Social Welfare Subhash Fal Dessai along with guest of honour Navelim MLA Ulhas Tuenkar. Akhil Gomantak Kshatriya Maratha Samaj President Suhas Phal Desai emphasised the core objective of organising the KMPL tournament, aiming to provide a platform for talented players. Chairman of KMPL 0.3 Shradha Udhav Shetye proposed a vote of thanks. KMPL Vice-President Sujay Dessai was also present.
