PANJIM: Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts and Science, Margao, won the Inter-Collegiate Taekwondo Women’s Championship 2024-25 organised by Goa University at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium, Taleigao Plateau, recently.

Carmel College of Arts, Science and Commerce claimed the runners-up position and MES Vasant Joshi College of Arts and Commerce, Zuarinagar, finished third.

The best Taekwondo player of the championship was awarded to Priyanka Vishwakarma of Government College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Khandola.

Chief guest for the presentation ceremony Associate Professor, Goa Business School, Goa University Ramrao Wagh, guest of honour Taekwondo Coach (Sports Authority of Goa) Theofile Lowe and Assistant Director of Physical Education and Sports, Goa University, Balachandra Jadar graced the occasion and presented medals and trophies to the winners and runners-up.

Event wise results: Upto & including 46kg: Gold: SadnyaArolkar, Shree Damodar College of Commerce and Economics, Margao. Silver:Aisha Khan, Government College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Khandola. Bronze: Pratiksha Gauns, Carmel College of Arts, Science and Commerce for Women, Nuvem. Bronze: Sunita Chouhan, MES’s Vasant Joshi College of Arts and Commerce, Zuarinagar.

Upto & including 49kg: Gold: Swaroopa Redkar, Rosary College of Commerce and Arts, Navelim. Silver: Anjali Prasad, Don Bosco College, Panjim. Bronze: Gauri Temkar, V M Salgaocar College of Law, Miramar. Bronze: Nayna Sahu, Goa College of Home Science, Campal.

Upto & including 53kg: Gold: Priyanka Vishwakarma, Government College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Khandola. Silver: Shneha Novar, MES’s Vasant Joshi College of Arts and Commerce, Zuarinagar.
