RAIA: USC Seraulim secured a 1-0 win over Sporting Club of Davorlim, advancing to the quarterfinals of the inter-village football tournament of St Sebastian Union Club, at Dando ground, Benaulim, on Monday.
Davorlim dominated early, nearly scoring in the 10th minute, but Seraulim’s keeper Milton D’Souza made a sensational save to deny Ajay Raj. The tide turned in the 24th minute when Savan Lotlikar delivered a pinpoint pass to Nayab Khan. In a moment of brilliance, Khan outwitted the Davorlim goalkeeper and slotted the ball into the net, putting Seraulim ahead, 1-0.
Despite Davorlim's relentless attacks in the second half their forwards faltered.
