This global event, held in different parts of the world each year, aims to showcase winning images, promote excellence in photography, and encourage artists to push the boundaries of their craft.

More than a mere competition, the WPC serves as a platform for photographers to exhibit their work, gain international recognition, and forge connections with fellow artists and industry professionals. As Team India prepares to shine on this esteemed stage, the World Photographic Cup continues to be a beacon for the global photography community, fostering creativity and excellence in every frame.

Speaking to Cafe, Rohan said the parameter for selection was that participants had to send images that suit the category and that he would have to select them. There were 10 categories and they included wedding, portrait and commercial, wildlife, digital illustration, landscape to name a few. In the portrait section there were two categories, natural and illustrative. In wedding there were documentary and creative.

Rohan said, “I check the photographs, I have to see if they fit the needs of the competition. If it is competitive enough, I then look into how it was captured, the different perspective and the different artwork and importantly the creativity of the photographer.”

When asked how he managed to get so many team members, he said as he got recognition, he started getting more inquiries. His name and number was on the website of the organisers.

One hopes the team returns home laden with medals in various categories.
