Recognising the importance of the role played by women in
the society and the injustice faced by them the NSS Unit of Rosary College of
Commerce and Arts, Navelim organised a rally on Independence Day, August 15.
The theme selected for the rally was ‘Respect Women Save Humanity’. The
Principal of the College Rev. Dr. Simao Diniz flagged off the rally at 10:15 am
at Rosary College campus in the presence of NSS Officers and the students. The
students participated actively in the rally and created awareness by
demonstrating placards and used slogans such as ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’, ‘A
girl child brings joy, she is not less than a boy’, ‘Nari Shakti Zindabad’ etc
to make people aware of the theme. The rally concluded at 11:30 am in the
Margao Municipal Garden. A total of 470 students and 05 NSS Officers
participated in the rally. Overall the rally was a success and attracted the
attention of the public.
