QUEPEM: Quepem police have arrested one Xavier Caitan Morais (55) from Quepem Taluka, on Thursday, for sexually abusing a woman and her minor daughter from April 2019 till September 2024. The incident has sent shock waves in the entire taluka.
Xavier Caitan Morais aged 55 from Quepem Taluka was arrested by Quepem police on Thursday. He was arrested for sexually abusing a woman and her minor daughter, from April 2019 till September 2024.
The mother and her daughter suffered the abuse for 5 years, they told the police. The minor girl who was abused for three years was 15 years of age at the time.
The complainants did not reveal this issue due to the threats issued to them by Morais. It is reported that he was helping the family since the husband of the woman was bedridden. Taking advantage of the situation, the woman stated that he raped her once when her husband was alive.
Police sources revealed that once, Morais put the girl in her car and raped her at a lonely place. He also showed pornographic content to her daughter against her will, videographed and photographed them in the nude
The accused also stalked the complainant's daughter, and threatened to circulate or upload their nude videos and photographs on social media. The accused Morais has been arrested under Section 376, 354-A, 506 IPC
