Betim murder accused arrested within 24 hours by Porvorim police

The accused had allegedly smashed the head of the deceased with a laterite stone at Malim old fish market shed

PORVORIM: The Porvorim Police have cracked the Betim murder case within 24 hours. On Saturday, Porvorim police had found the body of an unknown male aged 30 years lying below the Mandovi bridge lying in the old fish market shed. The head of the deceased was crushed with a laterite stone.  

A laterite stone with blood was found lying near the dead body. On observing the spot, it was revealed that there was a fight between the deceased and accused person. Empty liquor bottles, empty disposal glasses, water bottle, etc were found  lying on the floor in the shed.

The Police teams conducted thorough search operation and managed to apprehend two accused persons namely Krishna Pradhan aged 18 years, resident of Jharkhand, and Bhaula alias Bhola Singh aged 23 yrs, also from Jharkhand at Malim jetty. They were brought to the police station and during the interrogation, they confessed to have committed murder

During the course of investigation, teams headed by Police Sub-Inspectors were formed to trace accused under supervision of P.I. Rahul T. Parab.

The teams conducted thorough search operation and managed to apprehend two accused persons namely Krishna Pradhan aged 18 years, resident of Jharkhand, and Bhaula alias Bhola Singh aged 23 yrs, also from Jharkhand at Malim jetty.

They were brought to the police station and during the interrogation, they confessed to have committed murder . Both the accused persons are presently under Police custody.

 The deceased is not yet identified so far and efforts are on to establish his Identity.
