MARGAO: Environment Minister Aleixo Sequeira said that as declared by Water Resources Minister Subhash Shirodkar, the land acquisition for Borim Bridge will have to be done by October 20 or the entire process will lapse. He said that, that the bridge is necessary is non-negotiable, but the question is the alignment. We will try to reduce as much land required as possible in Loutolim.
When questioned by the media that people had gone to National Green Tribunal and the government was undertaking land acquisition, he admitted that the people had gone to the National Green Tribunal but declared that "we will respect the verdict of NGT even if land acquisition is done."
