The Electricity Department believes in exposing all its installations to the elements, be it control gear, MCB boxes or fuse boxes.
This is seen especially in coastal areas. Not only does this lead to malfunctions and short circuiting but also there is a clear and present danger of passersby, service personnel and animals being electrocuted by such careless placement of equipment. In the recent past, two linemen have lost their lives while servicing power fixtures. Will the Electricity Department take note of and eliminate such hazards before they do more damage.
