Pay-parking in Vasco yet to see the light of day

Walwyn D' Souza

In a bid to ease parking woes in the port town of Vasco the Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) had in January this year unveiled a plan to introduce pay-parking. It is a fact that cars are parked for several hours thereby causing inconvenience to other car owners. This would also generate revenue for the civic body. Three lanes were also identified to implement the pay-parking plan. After the plan for car parking was implemented it was suggested that pay-parking would also be implemented for two-wheelers. However it has been almost ten months since the plan was unveiled but is yet to be implemented. Makes one wonder whether the plan has been shelved for good.
