With BSNL landlines now a thing of the past and every individual today having a handset, BSNL authorities must removae all such rusted telephone boxes that are located everywhere. Such boxes are seen in Mapusa market, infront of the Siolim church and many such public places.
These boxes can infact be a threat to the safety of pedestrians and can cause damage also to vehicles and life if they rust and fall.
There must be safe boxes installed by BSNL for underground cables if at all required. The BSNL should come forward and either remove the boxes or auction them to some scrap dealer or maintain them if at all they are required for underground cabling.
