Cuncolim-based Sociedade Agricola Gauncares resolves to hand over land grabbing case to SIT

Society says Fatorda Police sitting over the complaint from last one year

Cuncolim: Sociedade Agricola Gauncares de Cuncolim e Veroda Society which owns large land in Cuncolim has resolved to hand over its land grabbing case to Special Investigating Team (SIT) to investigate who is involved in land grabbing and to punish those culprit and take back the land which was sold illegally.

Sociedade Agricola Gauncares de Cuncolim e Veroda Society of Gaonkars of Cuncolim and Veroda  own huge tracts of land in Cuncolim. According to the rules and Constitution of Society, it can only lease land to perform agriculture activities. Even to lease out the land is not possible because the Court has put restrictions on present committee to lease out land. One year ago Sociedade President Shaba Dessai came to know that some miscreants has illegally done sale deed of the Sociedade land. 

The President of Sociedade filed a police complaint at Fatorda Police station against some persons who were allegedly involved in illegal sale deed of Sociedade land.After several reminders 

Fatorda Police failed to act on Sociedade complaint. The present committee decided to take help of SIT to find out who are the land grabbers and who did illegal sale deed. The Sociedade managing committee  has decided to unanimously hand over the land grabbing case to SIT constituted by State government.

Sociedade President Shaba Dessai told media that some unknown persons has illegally sold out Sociedade land and it is not aware the exact area of land illegally sold by land mafia but have found some sale deeds which show that the land mafia done sale deed illegally.

Sociedade Managing committee said that they will go to the roots of this land grabbing scam and the committee has decided to hand over sale deed files to SIT and will be  getting data of sale deed. Sociedade managing committee told media that thousands of square metres of land has been grabbed by land mafias and sold illegally.
