SANCOALE: People and activists who are carrying on the chain hunger strike, two days after ex Sancoale Sarpanch Premanand Naik broke his hunger strike, have strongly demanded to stop the destruction of Goa. On Friday, they said the Sancoale Village Panchayat and Government must listen to the people and revoke the licence to Bhutani Infra. Common people said we have to save our fields, our hills and our lands, to avoid the destruction of Goa and Govt must listen.

Activist Anthony D’Silva said, “I’m harping on the land use. Compared to other states in India, Goa’s land is so scarce. If this (Bhutani type of projects) is approved, there is a big disaster for Goa in the waiting. So people should ensure that such type of projects are immediately stopped.”
