DDSSY cardholders can now apply online for scheme renewal

PANJIM: The Deen Dayal Swasthya Seva Yojana (DDSSY) cardholders can now apply online for renewal of their cashless health insurance scheme. The renewal process, which begun from Wednesday, will continue with manual procedure also. 

The two-month long renewal process will conclude on August 31, next month. Those, however, visiting the DDSSY Kendra, will have to compulsorily wear mask. 

Those currently holding DDSSY cards have to undergo the renewal process for the next policy period which begins from September 1, 2020 to August 31, 2021. There are 2.9 lakh cardholders in the State covering 10 lakh population. 

A three-member family is provided an insurance cover of Rs 2.5 lakh while the family of four or more members is provided a cover of Rs 4 Lakh under the scheme.

The Directorate of Health Services (DHS) has said that online renewal can be done  through www.goaonline.gov.in. The option has been made available to avoid rush at DDSSY Kendra in view of COVID pandemic. 

Also, those wanting to do manual renewal will have to visit the Kendra on receipt of SMS on the schedule date and time and in case of missed appointment, fresh date would be intimated. 

The annual renewal fee for a family of three or less members is Rs 200 and for a family of four and above is Rs 300. 

“Concession of 50 per cent will be considered for OBS, ST, SC and differently eligible person on produce of required documents,” the DHS said.
