PONDA: Ponda police on Friday arrested teacher Nikita Sukur Valadaris (23), a resident of Santo Estevam and Ashnavi Jaydev Kandholkar (21), from Gaonkarwada Khandola, for the incident at Marcel, on Thursday.  A video of their nuisance went viral on social media.
The two young women, reportedly under the influence of alcohol, fell off from their scooter near Shantadurga temple at Khandola. Seeing this, a senior citizen reportedly advised them to ride slow. Infuriated by the advice, the women entered into a heated argument with him.
Locals who witnessed the “nuisance” caused by the drunken women, informed the police outpost at Marcel, whose personnel rushed to the spot and instructed the women to stop their nuisance. However, the women picked up quarrel even with the police.
Therefore, they were detained and taken to Ponda police station where they were asked to tender an apology. Instead of apologising for their mistake, the women reportedly created ruckus in the police station.
Following this their relatives were summoned to the police station, but the women did not listen to their relatives and continued with their ruckus. Following this, police took them for medical test at Sub District Hospital where they were found positive for alcohol.
Thereafter, police arrested them on Friday. “Once behind bars, the two women came to their senses,” police said.
The women have been arrested under Sections 504, 353, 427 read with 34 of IPC.
