PONDA: The Dudhsagar tour operators have reiterated their demand to remove the counter of the Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) despite the announcement by the government that the jeep tours to the Dudhsagar falls would commence from Monday.

The operators are firm on their demand that the GTDC counter should be removed and online booking should be done through the tour operators association.

They stated that there was decline in tourists visiting Dudhsagar falls due to hike in fees by the GTDC. The operators said, they are hopeful that the Chief Minister Sawant will come out with a solution.

Meanwhile, the Dudhsagar Tour Operators Association on Monday filed a police complaint against its former president for allegedly handing over the bookings to GTDC without taking them into confidence.

The association members had met GTDC chairman and local MLA Ganesh Gaonkar, but the meeting remained inconclusive due to frayed tempers between the tour operators and the legislator.
