PERNEM: The Pernem Police on Saturday busted a gang of drug peddlers by arresting eight persons, who had arrived to Goa from Mumbai and recovered drugs worth Rs 1.2 lakh in their possession at Arambol.
According to Pernem PI Jivba Dalvi, they received information that a gang of drug peddlers has arrived from Mumbai and is involved in the drug trade in the jungle around Sweet Lake at Arambol.
During the raid, some of the policemen posed as prospective customers and established contact with the accused. The raid was conducted at Sweet Lake, Arambol wherein 8 persons were found residing in a room.
All the accused persons were searched thoroughly and were found in possession of drugs.
