11-year-old ends life in Sanguem

MARGAO: An 11-year-old boy from Molcarnem, Sanguem, died by suicide at his residence on Friday. According to police reports, the boy took the drastic step after an argument with his elder brother, during which he was scolded.

The police conducted an inquiry at the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Sanguem. An inquest panchanama was performed at the scene, where officers examined the circumstances surrounding the incident. The police stated that no foul play is suspected, as the family members do not believe any external factors contributed to the boy's death.

The body was sent to the South Goa District Hospital in Margao for a postmortem examination. The police surgeon conducted the autopsy and confirmed that the cause of death was asphyxia due to constriction of the neck.
