Govt releases list of low-risk waterfalls open for trekking

PANJIM: The State government on Friday released the list of low risk waterfall locations trails for trekking during this monsoon. Swimming however will not be allowed at the sites, till further orders.

Forest Minister Vishwajit Rane said last month that the low-risk waterfalls which were open to the public last year will continue to be accessible this year, with the deployment of lifeguards and forest guards.  Visits to high risks waterfalls are however banned.

The low-risk waterfall trails listed by the Forest Department are Charavne, Pali, Hivrem, Golauli, Gunguldem, Chidambaram, Nancli, UkaicheeKhadee, Kumthal, Madiyani and Khadee at Gululem, all in Sattari, Vatarachi Rai, Bandhavoilo Vazar, Maida and Collem in Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary: Kuske, Saveri and Bhati in Netravali Wildlife Sanctuary and  Mollem Highway near Dudhsagar temple, Highway viewpoint, Highway Mahavir gate, Highway Bamangudo, Pikkewadi, Talde, Tambdi Surla and Dudh Sagar.
