International delegates arrive for G20 health meet in Goa

PANJIM: The first group of international delegates arrived at the Dabolim Airport early Saturday to attend the 2nd Health Working Group G20 Meeting scheduled from April 17 to 19.

The first meeting of the G20 summit being held in Goa is of the Health Working Group, where participants will discuss health policies and initiatives. The G20 Summit is an important event, and this meeting of the Health Working Group could impact future global health policies significantly.

As part of the eighth G20 Summit, two ministerial and six other meetings will be held in the State spread across the next four months covering architecture, tourism and energy.

Delegates from 12 countries have  arrived in the State for the G20 Health Meeting.

The delegates who in the State are from Switzerland, USA, France, Mauritius, Indonesia, Oman, Brazil, Kenya, Netherlands, Australia, United Kingdom, as well as India.

Delegates from other countries including France, Mauritius, Indonesia, Oman, Brazil, Kenya, the Netherlands, Australia, United Kingdom, as well as India, also arrived in Goa on April 15.

From April 17-19, the 2nd Health Working Group Meeting will be held at a high-end resort at Bambolim.

The 3rd Development Working Group Meeting is scheduled from May 9-10, the location of which will be decided in the next few days.

Three meetings will be held in June. The June leg of meetings will start with the 3rd International Finance Architecture Working Group Meeting scheduled for June 5-7. The SAI 20 Summit will be held in Goa from June 12-14.

The 4th Tourism Working Group Meeting followed by the ministerial meeting (Ministry of Tourism) will be held from June 19-22.

Later, in July, an Energy Working Group Meeting will be held. This will be followed by the second Ministerial Meeting (Ministry of Power).

Upon arrival, the delegates were welcomed with a musical performance and after which they were served Goan snacks such as Ragi chips, cashew nuts, and tender coconut water.
