Major chaos at Dudhsagar, as tourists stranded at waterfall

Tension prevailed among jeep operators as some wanted to take the tourist to the base of the waterfall while other prevented them; police rushed to the spot

COLLEM: Tension prevailed at Collem on Saturday morning. Tourists who had gone to see the Dudhsagar waterfalls on Saturday –the first day of the opening of the tourist season there, were sorely disappointed. They were stranded there are travelling long distances due to a tussle between the jeep operators. Three jeeps which were about to leave for the falls, were stopped by other jeep operators.

Majority of the jeep operators who are on a hunger strike demanded cancellation of online booking through GTDC. The issue was finally resolved when politicians intervened and suspended online booking and allowed physical booking at the jeep riders counter, at the spot. Deputy collector and police rushed to the spot.
