From this incident it is evident that law and order in Margao and rest of Goa has collapsed. Aquem was the most peaceful place, but recently we have seen so many thefts have taken place in this area. Now this incident of flashing a gun is shocking. We fear what will happen in the future.”

“Why are these incident happening? This has to be analysed. I appeal to the Chief Minister and the police to pay attention to rising crimes and deal with them. If we look at the present situation, it looks dangerous to live in Aquem, Margao and dare I say entire Goa. Because we can’t predict what will happen in future. I had appealed to the Government to increase the police staff in Margao. They are also overworked. I once again appeal to the government to increase the staff,” Naik stated.

When contacted, Sunita Sawant, SP of South Goa disclosed that the person who was threatened is safe. " A complaint has been filed at Margao Police station. It is not proper to disclose his name at this stage, since he does not want publicity. Our investigations are on to trace the accused," SP Sawant said.
