Mandrem Ex Sarpanch puts pavers for his Alma Mater

MANDREM: A student of Mandrem High School, Mandrem who passed out from the school and rose become the sarpanch of the village, decided to symbolically pay back, all the education and upbringing he had received from his Alma Mater.

Mandrem Ex Sarpanch Prashant Naik had made a promise that he would put pavers for the school from which he passed out. Mandrem High School, is an aided school, which caters to the entire student community of Mandrem.

On Saturday, Mandrem Ex Sarpanch Prashant Naik inaugurated the pathway leading to school which has now been paved. The surrounding area has also been paved, at the ex sarpancha’s expense.

“I have studied from Class V to Class X in this school. The teachers who taught me are here. They have educated me. Today we are working for the welfare of the village and the teachers are the gurus. We have taken their guidance and are moving forward. So, I felt that since I have studied here, I should do something for my school,”

“I will always be with the school, when ever they need anything, irrespective of the fact that I am an ex-sarpanch or panch, since I am a student first,” he added.  

A management representative said, “When Prashant Naik was a sarpanch, he had promised us that he would put pavers for the school. Today he has redeemed his promise. On behalf of the management I thank him. All other things that he had promised for the school, he has delivered. I once again thank him and hope he will assist us in future.” Panchayat member Rajesh Mandrekar, school management, headmaster, and  other staff members were present.
