SANCOALE: A massive turn out of activists, people, panchas from other villages, MP, and MLAs, urged Sancoale Ex-Sarpanch Premanand Naik to end fast, which entered the third day on Wednesday. Captain Viriato Fernandes, Sancoale Panchayat member Maurelio Carvalho, Congressman Elvis Gomes, Olencio Simoes, AAP MLA Venzy Viegas and Cruz Silva, activists and people pledged their support for the fight against Bhutani and feared for Naik’s health.

South Goa MP Capt Viriato Fernandes pledged his support to the fast by Premanand Naik against Bhutani Infra. He urged Naik to withdraw the fast and said lets fight this together. Capt Viriato said that the insensitive government would not act and if anything happens to him the family and we will be the losers. For the government, it will be one less thorn in the side.

Benaulim MLA Venzy Viegas said, “The government is insensitive towards its own people who have supported the party and dedicated their life to it. He has  already fasted for three days, how many more days are we going to see him healthy like this? And how many more days will the govt take, to take a decision? Since everyone has said we don’t want this project, why is the government waiting for three days?”

The Sancoale VP Secretary refused to withdraw his signature from the permissions granted.

Premanand Naik however insisted that the Panchayat should withdraw the permission given to Bhutani and he would withdraw the fast within five minutes.
