PANJIM: The Assagao village panchayat on Saturday decided to conduct a joint site inspection of the property purchased by Pooja Sharma and currently where Agarwadekar family resides at Bairo Alto, Assagao.

After the meeting, Assagao sarpanch Hanumanth Naik said that the decision to hold joint inspection of the property was taken following a letter written to the panchayat by two activists Kashinath Shetye and Krishna Pandit.

Both the activists had written to the Assagao village panchayat not to grant or renew any construction, repair and renovation licence or any permission in the name of Pooja Sharma, Pradeep Agarwadekar and Prinsha Agarwadekar.

“ On Monday, the panchayat will write to the Bardez Block Development Officer (BDO), Mapusa,to fix a date for a joint inspection of the property and also ask Pooja Sharma and Agarwadekar family to remain present and produce documents on the inspection day,”  Naik said.

Naik said that the panchayat will also write to the electricity department junior engineers to initiate action against those who disconnected the electricity connection of the house before it was partly demolished with an earth moving machinery.

Shetye and Pandit had complained that Pooja Sharma had illegally partly demolished the house and also objected to grant any permission to Pradeep Agarwadekar and his wife Prinsha from carrying out construction of house at Bairo Alto, Assagao, in Survey No. 135/1-A of Village Assagao, Bardez, without obtaining any title/ownership, licence/permission/NOC, conversion sanad, and approved plans.

They had also sought prompt and immediate action against Pooja Sharma, Pradeep Agarwadekar and Prinsha Agarwadekar not to issue any licences/permission/NOC.

Both, Shetye and Pinto had urged the panchayat to disconnect the electricity and water connection and recover all charges/taxes/fees/penalty etc and also to demolish the illegal construction and restore the land to its original use at an earliest.

Meanwhile, Calangute PI Paresh Naik has been given additional charge of the Anjuna Police Station
