New demarcation plan, compensation to be done by RVNL, says South Goa MP Capt Viriato Fernandes

MARGAO:   In response to the chaos which ensued on Tuesday, wherein Rail Vikas Nigam Limited contractors began excavation work at Mollo, Pale village without any written notice to the local residents, South Goa MP Captain Viriato Fernandes assured that a new survey plan will be released for the demarcation and compensation to the affected residents will be done by the RVNL along with the South Goa Collectorate.

The MP along with RVNL and South Goa Collectorate convened a meeting on Wednesday wherein the RVNL authorities assured them that they will not touch residential houses, to which the MP expressed disbelief.

On Tuesday, Goencho Ekvott objected to land acquisition by RVNL through thickly populated area. They arrived with labourers and a bulldozer  at Mollo, Pale Village on Tuesday. Goencho Ekvott questioned the role of the Revenue department in the Land Acquisition process through thickly populated settlement area of Mollo, Pale Village and pointed out to serious lapses in the Land Acquisition process. They said that RVNL was imposing misery on the peaceful villagers of Mollo, Pale Village in the jurisdiction of VP Velsao, Pale & Issorcim
