PANJIM: Chairman of the Kala Academy Task Force Vijai Kenkre has said that he is not satisfied with the renovations works. “The work of Kala Academy hasn't even met the passing standards. KA needs to get back its status and there is lot of work to be done,” he said.

Kenkre has pointed out that there are lots of problems with Kala Academy renovation. The air conditioning, the leakage, and lots of issues with the acoustics. The contractors were absent for the meeting. He said that the additional expenditure will have to be deducted from the Contractors. Now the work will be done honestly, he added.

“We need certain experts, to resolve all those problems. There are many problems which we have to sort. We have a list of these problems and drawn up a programme how to go about it,”

When questioned my media that a huge amount had already been spend and would the government pay the experts again, Kenkre said “that we will have to meet them and decide. If contractors have made a mistake then they will not get (their dues)”

Another meeting has been fixed with contractors and experts on 10th November 2024. The contractors and experts will be called, including PWD officials. There will also be a special musical programme, featuring drama and theatre performances, on 12th November 2024, for live sound testing, Kenkre told media.
