PANJIM: One of the most digitised government departments -- Transport has now launched online service for availing Learners Licence. In Goa, alike few other States, one need not visit the RTO office to answer the test on road safety and availing the certificate from July 5.
The services will be available on https://parivahan.gov.in or https://goatransport.gov.in. The applicant has to answer online test after watching video about road safety which is provided on these sites. The assessment of test will be communicated to the applicant instantly and upon achieving desired passing of 60 per cent marks, Learner Licence will be issued which the applicant can download and print the same.
The service is automated end to end with auto approval and interface with RTO office is eliminated. The service will be functional from July 5, 2021.
The Department has also launched services related with goods permit in fully auto approval mode without having to visit the RTO. “The governance is taken to citizens instead citizens visiting offices to avail services. The department has carried out business process re-engineering in order to simplify the existing procedures and simplified and delivered various services in quick manner with minimum hassles. Now, the citizen need not visit RTO office for obtaining Learners Licence. Document validation is done through Aadhaar Card authentication,” reads a press statement by the department.
Most of the services have already been made online in the department and transactions are also cashless.
