"The new water pipeline that will be commissioned by April will resolve the water shortage problem," he said while adding "Some are doing tiatr."

Minister Sequeira whose constituency is facing water shortage faced the same questions by people of Navelim during the Panchayat Chalo Abhiyan. Sequeira has assured of providing water tanks to the affected households. The Minister has however indirectly accepted the shortage problem by asking the panchayat members to provide him with a list of households facing water shortage.

He has requested the panch of who has taken leadership to provide him with a list to whom he committed to supplying 1,000 litres water tanks.

O Heraldo had highlighted the issue of shortage of tap water in Majorda-Utorda-Calata areas which has forced hundreds of villagers to buy potable drinking water for daily use. Villagers while in conversation with O Heraldo had informed that the tap water pressure is so low that some households get five litres of water at dawn in five hours.

The elderly and the immobile folks from the village have taken the worst beating of the water shortage.
