Malik said, “On Tuesday morning we received a request from Russian charter Rossiya for the slots for its charter flights. On December 30, Rosiya has announced its first charter flight and the request for slots for nine flights has been placed. Earlier, SCAT Airlines and Air Astana flights have been approved by Goa Airport. This is the third request of the charter flight for this tourist season.”

He said, “So far request for nine flights has been received which may also increase depending on the situation. These charters will be operational twice a week on Thursdays and Saturdays. We are receiving requests from the charter operators and things are improving. After examining we will try to clear the requests.”

On international operations, Malik said, “As far as international operations are concerned it will depend on the international travellers and the COVID-19 situation abroad. It also depends on the Government of India's protocol on that particular day.”

On the prevailing situation at the Goa Airport, Malik said, “We are back to normal at the airport with caution and all precautions. Passenger footfall has increased recently. Even hotels are getting full.”
