VASCO: The Sancoale Comunidade has resolved to approach the court to reclaim lands allotted to Zuari Agro Chemicals, citing long-pending dues. They alleged that 45 lakh square metres of land has been encroached by Zuari. The Comunidade members said they want to use the land for pay parking to generate revenue.
The land was leased at a cost of 25 paise per square metre through the auspices of then Chief Minister Dayanand Bandodkar to create jobs for locals. It was alleged in the Goa Assembly that there was Rs 50 thousand crore scam on the land.
