PANJIM: Two sharp shooters involved in the sensational murder of Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) president from Haryana, Nafe Singh Rathee last month, were arrested in Goa on Monday.
The accused identified as Saurabh and Ashish, were arrested in a joint operation between Haryana Police and the Special Cell of Delhi Police carried out in Anjuna and Calangute area. Both the accused were found staying in a hotel.
Both shooters are reportedly associated with the notorious Kapil Sangwan gang. A senior Delhi Police official had earlier said that Ashish, Saurabh, Nakul and Atul were the four persons, who opened multiple rounds of fire on Rathee and Kishan's vehicle in Bahadurgareh in Jhajjar district of Haryana on February 25.
Both the accused were later flown from Goa to Delhi and then taken to Jhajjar district of Haryana. Both the accused have been remanded in eight days police custody.
During the preliminary interrogation of the accused it was revealed that they were using cash payments while on the run. The police said the duo took a train from Rewari to Ahmedabad and went from Mumbai to Goa in a taxi.
