Tenant verifications in the South increased tenfold in October, with over 26,000 people registering

Tenants in South Goa have been submitting more forms with their personal information to all 15 police stations as a result of the government's tightening of the tenant verification requirement. This number increased tenfold in October, from 38,484 in January to 26,557 in September.

There has been a 100 percent increase in domestic help verification forms, according to some police stations. Following the government's warning of steep fines for not finishing the verification process, this spike has been observed.

With 8,738 forms, Salcéte made up nearly 33% of the 26,557 forms that were submitted in October. With 4,070, the Ponda police station received the most tenant verification forms. The number of forms submitted to the Margão town police station increased from 1,455 in January to September to 2,268 in October. Likewise, the number of forms at the Maina Curtorim police station increased from 2,104 to 2,583. In addition to the 4,895 forms that were turned in earlier in the year, the Colvá police station also received 2,082 more.

Particularly at the Fatorda and Margão police stations, where 214 new forms were submitted, compared to 212 prior to the drive, the number of domestic help verification forms has increased by 100%.
Additionally, the number of new forms submitted to the Margão town police increased from 84 to 87.
Between January and September, 2,183 servant verification forms were filed; in the 20 days immediately following the drive, an additional 585 forms were filed.

The number of forms submitted to the Curchorem police station increased by almost 150 percent in October, from 1,116 in the preceding nine months to 2,453 in October. Following the start of the special drive, the number of forms submitted to the Ponda police station increased from 3,319 since January to 7,389 by October 20. 1,438 new forms were registered at the Canacona police station, up from 1,242 earlier in the year. Increases were also reported by the police stations in Vasco, Verna, and Mormugão, where 2,545; 3,646; and 1,106 new tenant verification forms were submitted, respectively.
