MAPUSA: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday said that people can now hoist the tricolour at Srinagar's Lal Chowk only because Prime Minister Narendra Modi abrogated Article 370. Modi also settled Ram Temple dispute and constructed Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

Addressing an election rally at the new Mapusa bus stand, Shah said, “While on one hand there is Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is running a government and making India proud for the last 10 years on the other there is an arrogant INDIA Bloc which has no leader nor a policy.”

“Though it is not going to happen, even in a dream, but suppose INDIA Bloc gets the majority, then who will be Prime Minister of the country. Can Sharad Babu, Mamata Banerjee, M K Stalin or Uddhav Thackeray control the country? Or can Rahul Baba control the country? They cannot,” Shah said.

Questioning the seriousness of the INDIA Bloc leaders, Shah pointed out that the country tolerated an unstable government for as many as 30 years, whereas the Narendra Modi government brought stability.

''Can these leaders (INDIA Bloc) bring the country out of corona if there is an outbreak again? Can they end terrorism? Can they provide stability in the country? Can they end naxalism?” he asked.

Shah further pointed out that the Bharat Jodo Yatra by the Congress party did not visit the State because they do not give importance to small States. “I want to tell him (Rahul Gandhi), you have carried out the Bharat Jodo Yatra, but after June 4, you will have to take out a ‘Congress Dhundo Yatra’ because Congress will not be seen and will be decimated in the election.”

Taking a jibe at AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, the Home Minister said,  “Mallikarhun Kharge thinks Rahul Gandhi will be held responsible for the Lok Sabha loss, but I want to tell him, that the sibling duo will not be held accountable, you are going to be sacrificed.”

Shah said that the Modi government gave huge financial aid to the State in the last five year which the Congress-led UPA government could not give during its 10 years regime.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant stated that the double engine Sarkar had taken all the efforts to resolve long pending issues of the State including reviving mining, political reservation of Scheduled Tribes (ST) communities and brought all round development of the State and the country which will continue in Modi 3.0.

Besides Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Union Minister and BJP North Goa candidate Shripad Naik, South Goa candidate Pallavi Dempo, BJP State President Sadanand Shet Tanavade and others spoke at the meeting.
