Vasco police patrolling Mangor get PPE kits, accommodation

Vasco: The State government acted swiftly after concerns were raised recently about the accommodation and safety of the police deputed at Mangor Hill area.

 On Friday, accommodation arrangement of police in a hotel was made while Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kits were distributed to all the police on duty. 

“Food and accommodation related arrangements for staff deputed at Mangor hill has been done by the government so that these police personnel do not go home directly and their families should stay safe during this corona pandemic,” said Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mormugao, Raju Raut Dessai. 

He added that 65 rooms at a hotel has been booked for the same while pointing out that 180 police personnel are to get individual PPE kits. 

In another development, the embassy of Mongolia in India, presented 530 numbers of re-usable PPE to the State government, which was received by the Director for NRI Affairs, Anthony J. D'Souza, who handed over the kits to Goa Police. During this event, Dysp Dessai,  Airport Police’s Police Inspector  Gurudas Kadam and liaison officer Nilesh Kamat were present.
