The biggest film festival in India is here and Goa will witness the 54th International Film Festival of India with new films making it to the big screen. Giving equal weightage to Goan films, this year, the Goan Section will be opened on November 24 with a red carpet for all seven Goan films. The films themes range from love, mysteries and strong women oriented stories. While some experienced film makers will be at IFFI with their third and fourth films, many will be premiering their debut feature film.

Zoya Akhtar, Reema Kagti, Jon Goldwater, Sharad Dev Rajan, Ruchikaa Kapoor will be part of a panel discussion moderated by Rajeev Masand. The Archies is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language teen musical comedy film based on the American comic book series of the same name produced by Tiger Baby Productions and directed by Zoya Akhtar, starring Agastya Nanda, Khushi Kapoor, Suhana Khan, Vedang Raina, Mihir Ahuja, Aditi Saigal and Yuvraj Menda. Zoya Akhtar is an Indian film director and screenwriter who works in Hindi cinema. She is the recipient of several accolades, including four Filmfare Awards. Zoya, along with Reema Kagti, founded Tiger Baby Films, a film and web studio in 2015. Reema Kagti is an Indian film director and screenwriter who made her debut as a director in the critically acclaimed ‘Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd.’, which was followed by the neonoir, ‘Talaash’ and the historical sports drama ‘Gold’.

A freewheeling conversation with star actor Sunny Deol on his life and work. With the roaring success of ‘Gadar 2’, Sunny Deol is back to where he belongs – i.e, right on top. As an actor, Sunny has worked in more than 90 Hindi films in a career spanning over four decades. He has won two National Film Awards and two Filmfare Awards. But Sunny is much more than an actor. He is also a keen social worker and a politician. Currently, he represents Gurdaspur in Punjab as a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha. Of the many film makers that Sunny has worked with, three can be said to have played important roles in his evolution as an actor and success as star. Rajkumar Santoshi who wielded the baton for Ghayal, Damini, Ghatak and Rahul Rawail who gave Sunny his first break with Betaab and then followed it up with Arjun, Samandar, Dacait, Yoddha, Arjun Pandit and Jo Bolay So Nihal. This session charts Sunny’s amazing 40-year movie career. Rahul Rawail is the son of renowned film director H.S Rawail. He gave Sunny Deol his first break in Betaab in 1983. Rahul cut his teeth in film making by working with Raj Kapoor in legendary films like Mera Naam Joker and Bobby. Rawail tasted success with his directorial debut Love Story and scaled further heights with Arjun, Dacait, Anjaam, Arjun Pandit and Jo Bole So Nihaal. He has launched the careers of Kajol in Bekhudi and Aishwarya Rai in Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya. Rahul has been nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Director for Betaab and Arjun.
