18 gambling raids across Goa by 16 police stations

Several police stations across Goa including the Crime Branch has conducted 18 raids targeting Matka bookies wherein 18 persons were arrested for illegal gambling activities. The crackdown by 16 police stations in Goa, along with the Crime Branch resulted in the seizure of almost Rs 19,000 in illicit funds across various locations in the state. The simultaneous crackdown on gambling raids conducted by various police stations across Goa in a single day has sparked concerns and raised eyebrows within the community. 

The raids were carried out at different places, with each police station revealing and dismantling illegal gambling operations. The detailed breakdown of the raids includes:

1.Saligao Police Station: Rs. 1510 seized at Valmiki Washing Centre, Grande Morod, Saligao.

 2.⁠ ⁠Mandrem Police Station: Rs. 975 seized behind HDFC Bank, Arambol.

 3.⁠ ⁠Crime Branch Police Station: Rs. 2530 seized near Cine Niagara Bazar area, Curchorem 

 4.⁠ ⁠Mardol Police Station: Rs. 620 seized opposite Goa Bagayatdar, Marcel.

 5.⁠ ⁠Mormugao Police Station: Rs. 5200 seized in Bainaur Road Junction, Cuncolim.

 6.⁠ ⁠Mormugao Police Station: Rs. 5200 seized in Baina.

 7.⁠ ⁠Quepem Police Station: Rs. 410 seized near Tilamol Circle, Quepem.

 8.⁠ ⁠Canacona Police Station: Rs. 450 seized at Galji Bag Junction, Paiguinim.

 9.⁠ ⁠Maina Curtorim Police Station: Rs. 630 seized near Dada Bar and Restaurant, Arlem.

10.⁠ ⁠Sanguem Police Station: Rs. 650 seized near Jalil Photo Studio, Sanguem.

11.⁠ ⁠Curchorem Police Station: Rs. 410 seized near Shivaji Chawk, Curchorem.

12.⁠ ⁠Verna Police Station: Rs. 1100 seized near Sangeeta Wine StoreZuarinagarar.

13.⁠ ⁠Vasco Police Station: Rs. 1000 seized near Sai Baba Temple, New Vaddem.

14.⁠ ⁠Colva Police Station: Rs. 720 seized near Shanti Bakery, Colva.

15.⁠ ⁠Margao Town Police Station: Rs. 1200 seized near Power House Junction, Aquem 

16. Margao Town Police Station: Rs.1080 seized near Laxmi Bakery Aquem

17.⁠ ⁠Fatorda Police Station: Rs. 700 seized opposite Ambaji John Tailor, Fatorda.

18.⁠ ⁠Ponda Police Station: Rs. 1300 seized near Kirti Hotel, Ponda.

These extensive operations reflect the continuous efforts of law enforcement agencies in Goa to curb illegal gambling activities, ensuring public safety and maintaining law and order.
