With dengue cases on the rise across the
state, Calangute Sarpanch Joseph Sequeira, has claimed that the health
department and the Public Health Centre have fallen short in their efforts to
address the escalating dengue cases in Calangute.
He emphasized that the Panchayat has taken
measures by conducting sample collections from the village's residents and
providing them with free medication, which has resulted in financial
expenditures.
He added that on Friday 453 people were
tested for the disease, and alarmingly, 114 of them tested positive with the
number of confirmed cases continuing to rise steadily. Sequiera has requested
the health department to take cognizance of the matter with appropriate actions
to curb the spread of the disease.
