First group of international G20 delegates arrive in Goa

The first group of international delegates from Switzerland and the U.S. arrived at the Dabolim Airport early on Saturday to attend the Second Health Working Group G20 Meeting from April 17 to 19. The first of the eight meetings scheduled in the State starts from April 17 to 19 at Grand Hyatt, Bambolim after India formally assumed G20 Presidency in December last year.

The delegates were warmly welcomed with a musical performance and taken to a reserved lounge where they were served Goan snacks such as Ragi chips, cashew nuts, and tender coconut water. They will be staying at the Grand Hyatt, in Bambolim.

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) will organise the G20 Digital Health Summit with the theme Digital Health – Building One Health Together’ on Sunday,  April 16 at Cidade de Goa Resort, Dona Paula, which will be aligned with the G20 agenda on Promoting Health and Wellbeing by leveraging Digital Health towards One Earth, One Health.

Other delegates are expected to arrive in Goa over the next few days at either the Dabolim Airport or the Mopa international airport. Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Republic of Korea, the Republic of South Africa, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the UK, the USA, and the European Union (EU) form the G20 group. 

Representatives from guest countries and international organisations have also been invited to attend the Summit.
