This festival is dedicated to promoting the inclusion and celebration of persons with disabilities (PwDs) and is expected to draw international delegates from various parts of the world.

At the core of the International Purple Fest are 22 esteemed Purple Ambassadors, each representing one of the 21 types of disabilities listed under the RPwD Act, 2016, with a particular emphasis on including Spinal Cord Injury.

Delegates from countries such as Japan, Canada, Norway, and the USA will be attending to share valuable insights on best practices from their respective nations.

The festival's official website was launched on Monday, and registrations are now open. This event is the result of a collaborative effort between local organizations, NGOs, and the government.

The Purple Fest, a pioneering initiative in Goa, serves as a vital platform for individuals with disabilities to showcase their talents, connect with others facing similar challenges, and celebrate their unique abilities.
