Holi celebrated with a big splash of colours and joy in Goa

Revellers celebrated Holi with great joy and a lavish splash of colours. Also known as the Festival of Colours, the festival is celebrated to mark the beginning of Spring and is also known as the Festival of Love. It is one of the most popular and significant festivals in Hinduism. 

Many traditional forms of worship and folk dances are held on the eve of Holi. At Nachinola, Aldona, Homkhand was offered at Ravalghadi Devasthan Nacinola on the occasion of Holi.

In Morjim, Kanja Gaura traditional holi folk dance & folk songs were presented at Dadoba devasthan, Morjim in the runup to Holi on Monday. 

The Panjim Shigmotsav Samiti held a Holi celebration at Azad Maidan, Panjim on Tuesday. There was an absolute riot of colour on the occasion. Locals gathered at the venue each year to share the joy of the festival. Foreign tourists too joined in the fun.

Holi programmes were also held in other parts of Goa.
