Hundreds turned up at the Velsao RVNL work inspection, but Mormugao Deputy Collector Ravi Shankar Nipanikar, Cortalim MLA Anton Vas and RVNL officials failed to turn up for the inspection. Only DySP Salim Sheikh turned up after one and a half hours after 11 am to maintain law and order.

Founder of Goencho Ekvott  Orville Dourado said unless the demarcation is done by RVNL in the presence of the Deputy Collector no work will be allowed to be done. Former Environment Minister Alina Saldanha said RVNL is trespassing on private land and they do not have a single document to prove ownership. Heated arguments between locals and police officials after locals try to push mud into the trench dug up for the retaining wall.

Former Goa Environment Minister Alina Saldanha, Orville Dourado and others asked an assurance from DySP Salim Sheikh that work will not be carried out by RVNL unless the Deputy Collector does a site inspection. Velsao Sarpanch Diana Goveia said that the village panchayat had issued a stop-work order to RVNL after people complained that they were trespassing on private property. After the inspection did not happen people marched to the site where RVNL was doing work by the tracks.
