BENAULIM: The much anticipated vote counting for the by-election of 10 wards of Village Panchayat and Benaulim Zilla Panchayat commenced on Monday. Joseph Gabriel Pimenta won by 3049 votes polling 5672 votesin the Bye-Election to 12 Benaulim ZP constituency against Grrayfan Fernandes who polled 2623 votes. Royla Fernandes who resigned from the Congress and contested as independent despite the INDIA Block fielding Pimenta stood third with 1840 votes.

Venzy Viegas, said that Goans have voted in favor of unity and will accept the
people's mandate and act in accordance with it.
